Librarians and Educators Receive Special Invitation

Khaled Hosseini Author Event

Don't know how many of you were able to take advantage of the donated tickets for this event at WTAMU

on October 15th. Because of the generosity of an anonymous donor, librarians and educators in the

area were invited to attend. "An intimate conversation with Mr. Hosseini" was not only informative but

also very entertaining. I was very impressed with the attentive reception by the young college students at

WTAMU for Mr. Hosseini and their standing ovation at the end. Both of these novels are very touching stories of life in Afghanistan before and during some of its turbulent history.

I felt very honored to have been given the opportunity to attend this program and I appreciate it very much.

Presentations Forms, Best Practices Collection

Hi Everyone!

In my travels across the Panhandle this fall, one thing has come up time and again. Many of you would like to have a collection of downloadable presentations on Computer Basics, HLC Databases, and other topics available on the website.

If you've created a presentation on any library related topic, and you'd like to share it with your colleages, please email me or Lee and we'll get them posted. I for one would love to have a stunning powerpoint to adapt to my needs for a variety of library topics.

You should be getting an email request from Lee soon. Keep an eye out for it! and contribute please! You all do such good work....

Lisa

Panel Discussion on Literacy

I hope all of you plan to attend our panel discussion on literacy in the Panhandle. We have a great group lined up for you! Sorry about the confusion over the time. Check your email if you don't know what I'm talking about, but the discussion will only last from 10-12. Lunch and a Hug meeting will follow that. Lee and I will be available to assist you with your literacy and computer basics plan if you wish.

See you soon!
